Creekside Communications Seminars invites you to attend a one-day workshop in Half Moon Bay, CA. The workshop focuses on Seeking Wellness--Story by Story through the use of your personal writing.
The workshop will be offered
in
June and
September
2008. You can attend on
Friday,
June 20
or Friday,
September
26. Choose to attend whichever day works best in your schedule or elect to attend
two or
more days to experience the same material with a different group of attendees.
Two local Half Moon Bay authors will serve as your faculty:
- Ellen Taliaferro, MD - Book author, speaker, and former university professor.
- Adora Palmer - Degree in journalism, health educator, and author of three books (so far).

Ellen Taliaferro, MD
Known simply as Dr T to her readers, Ellen lives in Half Moon Bay and serves as the Medical Director of the San Mateo Medical Center Keller Center for Family Violence Intervention in San Mateo, CA. She speaks and writes about the healthcare impact of violence and abuse and how writing can be used as a therapeutic self-help tool to address the health consequences of past trauma.
Ellen is a recovering emergency physician who, in between stints at the Keller Center, now spends her time writing, speaking, and appreciating life on the Coast.
Dr T recently presented a workshop called Writing Your Story from True Life Experiences. To view the handout from that workshop, click here. She also has presented a workshop, How to Develop a Writing Practice for Improved Health and Productivity, to help people in the healthcare field address their own stress caused by vicarious traumatization. Adora Palmer
Adora Palmer, a prolific writer, well known to many local Half Moon Bay folks, can be found writing a little something, somewhere, just about any time of day or night. Her writing captures everyday life and brings smiles of recognition to her readers.
Adora has studied nursing and journalism. With her her husband, Alan, and her daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Lance Anderson, Adora remains active in teaching spirometry training courses all over the country.
Adora will show workshop attendees how to use writing for:
- Career memoirs
- Family memoirs
- Spiritual growth and harmony
- Club newsletters
- Personal letters
- The infamous Christmas letter
